Dear All,

We will be placing the reading materials here for your reading and reference. Please do have a look at the documents or research materials to kick off the discussions. It is located in a google drive which you can access using your icon mail account. Once there is new documents and articles, we will share with all here. If you have anything you would like to share, please let me know, i will try to open up to you or you can send to me so that i can upload.

To kick off, this is what i find useful in the readings

In the paper, Principles for e-pedagogy by Simuth and Sarmany-Schuller,

There are some principles for e-pedagogy:


  • Ensure and guarantee frequent and regular contact between the teacher and students as well as among
    students.
  • Develop reciprocity and cooperation among students.
  • Provide students more with feedback than evaluation.
  • Create positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Respect the diverse talents and learning styles in creating the learning activities and materials.
  • Provide students with clear expectations from the beginning of the course.
  • Provide students and teachers with appropriate training for e-elearning.


Seems like it is a useful generic group of principles which will lead to higher efficiency of e-pedagogy in the IPs where content knowledge is concerned. The transfer of knowledge and information is best achieved with interesting interaction and interface with the source. be it a teacher or a computer or a web site or video. The question i then have is whether this transfer could be applied to belief systems and in turn, character.

I think in essence, content information builds some form of believes, some form of perception and concept? So thus, is Character Development a set of beliefs which constructs a concept? Any views?
